RPBA Registered. My family love Labrador Retrievers and I cannot remember a time when this breed hasn't been part of our clan. Currently I have two females, Sadie and Darcy, whilst my folks in UK have the beautiful Vashtie. My eldest and her family are shortly to have my chocolate boy, Digby Milo (Jasper): He and Darcy (yellow) are siblings. Various members of the family have raised Lab Retrievers, but sadly their lifespan is only 10-12 yrs. This breed originated in Newfoundland, Canada; they are excellent water dogs, known as the 'Fishermans Dog' as their soft mouths and gentle jaw meant they had the ability to retrieve fish fallen from the nets without damaging the catch. Lab Retriever, although he has a short coat, will molt In spring and Autumn and will shed all year round (not for those with allergies). He is a medium to large dog, active, intelligent, easily trained and so eager to please; this together with his affectionate and cheeky nature makes him the perfect family pet. I have one remaining darling looking for his perfect forever home.
