ABOUT ONYX
Onyx is one of the 11 kittens named for precious stones. He came to us from Mt Garnet with 13 other kittens. All of the kittens were quite shy and feisty but, with good food and loving care, they're starting to prove that their shyness was environmental and not in their nature. Onyx (oh fluffy one) is very confident and obviously the alpha male. His siblings aren't afraid of him, but rather take his lead when they're not too sure. He's a funny kitten. Of all of them, Onyx is the only one that DEMANDS to have meat, not chicken and, once he gets his way, he'll growl to make sure no one else takes it off him. He doesn't even notice that the rest of the kittens aren't in the least bit interested in his piece of meat. Chicken is good enough for them. Onyx is the sort of cat you'll have when you can't have a dog. His character will get you in and Onyx will always get what he wants.

ABOUT AMBER
Amber is one of the 9 kittens named for precious stones. She came to us from Mt Garnet with 13 other kittens. All of the kittens were quite shy and feisty but, with good food and loving care, they're starting to prove that their shyness was environmental and not in their nature. Amber is very unusual in colouring. She's a fluffy classic brown tabby but she seems to have a red glow to the black in her coat, thus her name. She's a sweet little kitty who is shy at first, but soon responds to human touch when she feels safe. Amber has a softness about her eyes. She will be best suited to a quieter home with patient humans to help her adjust to her new environment.

David Bowie description:
This is David-Bowie, the cutest, sweetest rock and roll legend of the elite black cat universe.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I (David-Bowie’s mama) have to return to the United Kingdom and have been unable to find a loved one/friend or a foster carer able to take him in temporarily with the view to return to him or organise his move to the UK.
Whilst I am absolutely devastated to be apart from my beloved rescue boy, I know he is the absolute perfect companion for someone in need of their very own little lovable rockstar.
Age: 4
Likes: David Attenborough, Ham, Kisses, Attention, Making biscuits, Naps with his Human, his scratching posts (not the furniture) & appreciates nothing more than your love and devotion.
Desexed: Yes
Microchipped: Yes
Dislikes: Thunder storms, confined spaces & being without his human for too long.
Located: Currumbin Waters, Gold Coast
Dogs: Yes
Cats: Unsure
Children: Yes
Flex’s: Can sit, stay, shake, has excellent recall on command, walks on a harness and is often mistaken for a lil baby.
Other: David-Bowie is an indoor cat but loves to unleash some zoomies in the garden should there be a safe, secure yard (free from road hazards/ snakes etc) that he can mooch in when you're with him.
Potential Foster - If you or someone you know loves cats & would be happy to care for him temporarily please also get in touch, all David-Bowies’ needs would be organised along with a token of thanks for your time.

The Ultimate Domestic Medium Hair (DMH) Guide
About Domestic Medium Hair (DMH)
Domestic Medium Hair cats are as lovable as their more popular short-haired and long-haired counterparts. These medium-haired felines are known for their independence and affection for their families. They exude energy, curiosity, and playfulness. If you seek a loving companion that doesn’t demand extensive pampering, a domestic medium-haired cat is the perfect choice.

Grooming
When it comes to grooming a Domestic Medium Hair cat, the requirements are not as high as one might think. Despite their medium-long coat, they are relatively low-maintenance when it comes to grooming.
Origins
Similar to Domestic Shorthair and Domestic Long Hair cats, the Domestic Medium Hair, or DMH, is a catch-all term encompassing various breeds. Since this is a pseudo-breed, there are no specific physical traits common to all Domestic Medium Hair cats. However, members of this landrace in a particular geographic area can develop specific characteristics over time. For instance, Asian DMH cats may share traits different from those in North America.
This pseudo-breed is also often called a house cat or alley cat (for feral specimens), much like Domestic Shorthair and Domestic Long Hair cats.
Key Characteristics Of Domestic Medium Hair (DMH)s
Are Domestic Medium Hair (DMH)s Family-Friendly?
Yes. Despite a wide range of personalities, Domestic Medium Hairs are generally considered family-friendly. They are typically gentle and affectionate, and they tend to get along well with children and other pets.
Common Health Issues & Considerations
Domestic Medium Hair (DMH)s may suffer from:
Obesity
Hyperthyroidism
Chronic kidney disease
Nature / Temperament
Active, Playful and Energetic
Suitable Environment
The ideal environment for a Domestic Medium Hair cat includes plenty of space for them to roam and explore. They need access to a litter box, and their food and water dishes should be in areas where they feel comfortable and safe. These cats enjoy high perches, such as shelves or cat trees, where they can oversee their territory.
Other Considerations
Domestic Medium Hairs come in various colours and patterns.
They usually result from breeding between a Domestic Shorthair and Long Hair cat.
They are excellent hunters, and allowing them outdoors can negatively impact local small animal populations.
How can I take good care of my Domestic Medium Hair (DMH)?
Nutrition
A Domestic Medium Hair cat should have a diet high in protein and fat, and low in carbohydrates. This diet helps keep the cat’s coat healthy and shiny and prevents obesity. High-quality commercially available cat food is suitable for most cats unless your veterinarian specifies a different diet.
If feeding dry food, watch for signs of dehydration and monitor water intake. Ensure they always have access to fresh, clean water.
Grooming
A Domestic Medium Hair cat’s grooming needs are less extensive than those of long-haired breeds. They require weekly brushing and rarely need professional grooming.
Recommended Grooming Tips
Brush them regularly, at least once a week, if not more.
Trim their nails regularly, and whiskers if desired.
Bathe them every few months, unless they get particularly dirty, in which case, bathe them more often.
Exercise
A Domestic Medium Hair cat needs at least 15 minutes of exercise daily. Engage them in play, such as chasing a toy or climbing a cat tree. Provide a variety of toys to keep your cat engaged and rotate them regularly.
Training
Domestic Medium Hair cats have no specific training needs and are relatively low-maintenance. Litter box training and grooming session acclimation are essential. Generally good-natured and low-key, training them should not be difficult. Proper socialisation helps prevent behavioural issues.
This information is general and should not be used for adoption or purchasing decisions. Consult an expert for detailed care and requirements of the breed.
No, Domestic Medium Hair cats do not require any special care beyond what any other type of cat would need. They should be groomed regularly and provided with plenty of food, water, and toys.
No. Due to the wide variety of Domestic Medium Hair cat traits, one cannot definitively say that they are hypoallergenic. Individual cats may or may not produce less of the proteins that cause an allergic reaction.
If you are searching for a Domestic Medium Hair cat for sale, it’s important to only deal with reputable breeders. Ethical breeders will test for health problems and genetic issues, ensuring that the breeding animals and kittens are healthy. The average cost of a Domestic Medium Hair kitten for sale will be between AUD $100 and $600.
This is general information and should not be relied on as adoption or purchasing advice.
