Ragdoll kittens should be fed a high–quality diet that is rich in protein and fat. Cats are obligate carnivores and the bulk of their food should be derived from animal meat. They also need plenty of water to keep their bodies hydrated.

Scheduled meals are better for adult Ragdolls instead of free feeding. You may consult with your vet about your cat’s diet and nutrition for more specific advice.

Despite their laid back personalities, Ragdolls still need some exercise to stay healthy and happy. They typically don’t need a lot of vigorous activity but they do enjoy playing from time to time. It’s important to keep your Ragdoll cat mentally stimulated with toys and puzzles. A good rule of thumb is to provide them with 10-15 minutes of playtime per day for every month of their age (up to 2 hours for an adult cat).

Ragdoll cats are attentive and easygoing, making their training sessions relatively painless. Most Ragdoll kittens can start being trained to use a litterbox and sit quietly in a carrier from a very early age.

No matter what training goals you have, ensure that the training methods are based on positive reinforcement. Cats are sensitive creatures and may shut down if they are scolded or harshly rebuked.
