Looking for a worthy best friend?
This girl is LITERALLY the best dog in the world. And an amazing friend.
She is happy, calm, and so loving! A real socialite with dogs and people. Incredibly well behaved with excellent manners.
Due to a change of circumstances I am no longer able to provide her the time and life she deserves, so I need to match her with a wonderful new family.
Your and Nala’s best life:
- You get to be together the majority of the time, including many expeditions and adventures.
- Your relationship is based on trust and respect (positive-reinforcement training).
- Treats abound, and you both enjoy the best of luxury.
- An active lifestyle. Nala is an accomplished runner, walker, beachcomber, mountain hiker, and cyclist (well, you cycle - she runs on or off leash).
- You will be family for the rest of her life.
- Most importantly, there is just so much love and appreciation and fun and happiness shared!
The fine print:
- Nala has great genes and a fast metabolism, she needs quality dog food, and hopefully plenty of extra meat to keep her strong.
- She has never been into barking. She is house trained. She is attentive, loves to play, loves pats and cuddles. She would rather sit or lie down comfortably on her own rather than on a lap.
- She is friendly and gentle with other animals including birds and frogs (it’s just those brush turkeys that spark the pointing instinct in her!)
- Yes, she is de-sexed and microchipped.
Please get in touch (by message or text) if you think you’d like to share your life with this beautiful girl. Let me know a little about your lifestyle and ability to meet her needs. We can then arrange a meet-and-greet. This is difficult because I love her so much, but I am ready to do what is best to give her a better life. I need to see that she’ll be loved and taken care of, and then she is ready to go and share her best life with her new best friend (you!)

GERMAN SHORTHAIR POINTER PUP
Purebred
Lovely nature. No structural or temperament problems.
Very settled and has been taught some manners but hasn't bonded to us the breeder.
This pup is available because of a sale which didn't eventuate because we couldn't find a animal courier service who would take it to the required location.
The advantage of being an older pup ( nearly 4 months) is that he isn't chewy or as boisterous as a small pup.
He has grown up with both mum and dad.
In farm setting so very relaxed and comfortable pup.
We only want the best home and have rejected 2 offers for him so far.
We have a responsibility as micro breeders to ensure (as best we can) that he will be loved and cherished as do his parents.
I have slashed the price to $700 I'm of the opinion that if you can afford that you may run short of money on feed for him down the track.
I have included a photo of one of his full brothers as well as photos of his parents.
Ours love hunting but have sold pups which are quite happy as lap dogs.
Sorry can't upload as many photos as I would like
I can send more photos to your device on request.

The Ultimate German Shorthaired Pointer Guide
About German Shorthaired Pointer
The German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) is a hunting breed. This regal dog is adept at hunting small game. But, after a long day of work, they love to get back home and curl up on the couch next to their parents.
Lifespan
12 to 15 years
Weight
45 to 70 pounds
Height
53 to 64 cm
Grooming
Most German Shorthaired Pointers only shed a minimal amount. Brushing them once a week is enough to remove loose fur.
Origins
This breed is actually referred to as Kurzhaar in Germany and the Deutsch Kurzhaar in Europe. Their actual origin is not known. However, pointer dogs are known to have lived in parts of Europe in the 13th century. It is likely that the breed is a descendant of the German Bird Dog.
The latter has an ancestral connection to the Old Spanish Pointer as well as the Hanover Hound. These two were crossbred during the 1600s.
The GSP first came to the U.K. during the early 1920s. The breed was then adopted in Australia in May, 1996. Today, the Australian National Kennel Club classifies GSPs in group 3, which comprises of gun dogs.
Key Characteristics Of German Shorthaired Pointers
Are German Shorthaired Pointers Family-Friendly?
Yes. German Shorthaired Pointers are fit for any family that provides positive, firm training. The breed also needs a consistent environment.
Common Health Issues & Considerations
German Shorthaired Pointers may suffer from:
Gastric dilatation-volvulus
Hip dysplasia
Entropion
Nature / Temperament
Coming soon.
Suitable Environment
The German Shorthaired Pointer thrives in a mild climate. They are not well-suited to apartment living, due to their high energy levels, large size and exuberant nature. However, they may adapt to living in an apartment if their owner can commit to bringing them outside frequently for exercise.
Other Considerations
German Shorthaired Pointers require a lot of exercise, and active owners can take them swimming to release their energy.
Their feet should be inspected regularly as they are known to have cuts around the feet after a day of adventure.
German Shorthaired Pointers can be slow to mature, and need training and socialisation to learn how to behave around other dogs.
How can I take good care of my German Shorthaired Pointer?
Nutrition
Provide high quality kibble that is suitable for your German Shorthaired Pointer’s age and exercise needs. Puppies below the age of 6 months should be fed at least twice each day. But once your German Shorthaired Pointer attains adulthood, two meals a day will suffice. Since the German Shorthaired Pointer is prone to bloat, do not provide food right after a vigorous outdoor activity. Also, do not allow your German Shorthaired Pointer to exercise less than an hour after a meal or drink. The best time to feed a German Shorthaired Pointer puppy is in the evening after they’re through with their activities for the day.
Grooming
The German Shorthaired Pointer has a short coat that is very easy to manage. They shed very little fur. Thus, they only need weekly coat brushing to remove the excess fur and maintain a healthy coat.
Recommended Grooming Tips
While German Shorthaired Pointers do not shed heavily for most of the year, they will shed more during the spring and fall.
Only use a gentle dog shampoo when bathing your German Shorthaired Pointer so that their skin does not dry out.
German Shorthaired Pointers should have their teeth brushed with a dog-specific toothpaste.
Exercise
A lot of exercise helps the German Shorthaired Pointer stay healthy. German Shorthaired Pointers need at least one hour of activity outdoors where they can have a full on run. The German Shorthaired Pointer is not the best pet for a family that does not get active with their pets. They have webbed feet, which makes them great swimmers. They enjoy jumping into the pool with everyone else. However, if your German Shorthaired Pointer has not been in the water before, you might detect a lot of nervousness. So, begin to expose your German Shorthaired Pointer to water right from puppyhood.
Training
German Shorthaired Pointers are incredibly intelligent and ready to please. They thrive with plenty of activity and instruction. Since they enjoy this kind of structure, they don’t respond well to inconsistent training.
Training the German Shorthaired Pointer requires plenty of patience, game-based instruction and affection. They enjoy working, provided you give a tug or ball in return.
Begin training as soon as your German Shorthaired Pointer comes home. Use the dog’s inclination to exercise to your advantage. Give praise and treats, and the German Shorthaired Pointer will be eager to listen. But, be sure to keep sessions short, between 5 and 15 minutes.
This is general information and should not be relied on for adopting or purchasing advice.
The German Shorthaired Pointer is quite sensitive. Reprimands tend to cause them some level of emotional stress. They also don’t like repetitive training as they get bored very fast.
If you are looking for German Shorthaired Pointer puppies for sale in Sydney, it is best to adopt only from registered breeders. They will be able to produce healthy, well-tempered puppies. The average cost of a German Pointer for sale will be between AUD $1500 and $3000.
