Mystic Maltaliers run a pet therapy program called Cuddles and Co – and visit 24 different aged care homes with small dogs, to interact and spend time with seniors – who get a great deal of enjoyment from the visits.
Very often people who don’t engage anymore – come alive when our pet therapy pups visit and we are also able to provide comfort to the families of those whose relatives are palliative.
We breed Maltaliers for pet therapy and we are adding a female puppy to our breeding program in February 2026 (ready for new home in May 2026). Mum will be either Reagan who is a Cocker Spaniel (first photo) or Willow who is a Tri-Colour Cavalier. Dad, Riley is a Maltalier. Willow and Riley's previous pups are shown in the second picture but Reagan hasn't had any yet - so we are unsure what they will look like but may look like pictures 4 & 5.
We are looking for a wonderful guardian home for this puppy whose name will be Hazel. She will be your dog and lives with you and your family as a treasured family member. Between about 2 and 5 years old, Hazel will spend a few days with us for romance that will hopefully lead to the birth of some beautiful puppies two months later to help us keep our pet therapy program going. Hazel will stay with us to birth and raise her puppies and will then return home to you. At conclusion of her breeding, she will be desexed and live out the remainder of her life with her family.
We are also looking for an individual who is interested in joining our pet therapy team with Hazel as their visiting dog. This is a casual par time paid role ($40 per hour). You would need to commit to two blocks of training of 7 weeks each at Burnside with Hazel so that she can gain her Canine Good Citizen Certificate. Must be located within South Australia.
