Two beautiful long-fur dachshunds for adoption.
Maple & Honey were surrendered into our care at the end of May. They have responded well to our rehabilitation efforts, and so, will soon be ready to be placed into a more permanent situation. The adoption fee is for each dachshund and covers the cost of their recent medical and grooming appointments.
We kindly beg of you to remember that adopting a dog is a long term responsibility that has both financial and lifestyle consequences. It is a burden worth bearing for their wonderful companionship but one that should be born with proper respect and a sober conscience.
Maple is a Choc & Tan long-fur (questionable) miniature dachshund. She is in her fourth winter. Maple is the most endearing acquaintance I have ever had the pleasure to make. If you were to meet her, you'd know what a treasure this stumpy little dog is. Everything that makes her a dull dachshund, is what creeps inside your soul and makes you want to carve out a space for her live in comfort and contentment forever. She is like a still swedish lake 'stilla vatten', a cool considerate countenance that is a home not for you but for the life that feeds you. When there are waves in her surface and you see her excitement, it is a ripple that is felt deeply within by anyone who is close enough to cause the effect or see it's simple, innocent beauty. Her usual calm expression and inquisitive head tilt always amuses me and sometimes, like when observing the Mona Lisa, I cant tell if we are sharing a joke or if I'm the subject of her secret amusement. She is a gentle and mild spirit worthy of a loving and comfortable forever home.
Honey is a Creme long-fur well bred miniature dachshund only in her second winter. Although her parentage is not known to us, she carries almost every celebrated dachshund trait that we know and love. Although she is a slight thing and quiet upon first acquaintance her personality has spunk. She has a curious and inquisitive disposition and though she is a lady of few words, when she has something to say, she is not afraid to voice her opinions. Your attention and friendship is to her of the upmost importance and she is not shy to beg of you for more. With this fine lady on your arm, expect to be the envy of all when taking a turn around the park. She has a handsome face, fine figure, healthy appetite, gentle nature and a tolerance for activity. Proud must be the one to adopt this darling dog into their family.
